Year of Mary

May 13, 2017 A.D. – May 13, 2018 A.D.

Whereas the 13th day of May in the year 2017 A.D. marks the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of Our Blessed Mother to the children of Fatima,

Whereas Our Lady of Fatima asked the three children of Fatima to exhort the Faithful to pray the Rosary for the sake of World Peace and Conversion of Sinners,

Whereas our World today is plagued by global violence, terrorism and war,

Whereas families often suffer from discord and strife,

Whereas Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica-Saint Anthony of Padua is privileged to promote true devotion to Mary,

I hereby declare on this day, the beginning of a Year of Mary in suffrage for peace in the world and home through the Rosary, the Brown Scapular, and the Solemn Liturgical Celebrations to conclude on the 13th of May, 2018.

May Our Lady of Fatima bless the work of our hearts, minds, and hands in this Year of Mary.

The Very Reverend Monsignor Michael J. Cariglio, Jr.
Pastor and Rector
