July 25-28, 2019 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica

The 21st Annual Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Italian Festival in Youngstown is set for July 25, 26, 27 and 28th on church grounds at 343 via Mt. Carmel where Scott Schulick serves as fest chairperson.

Opening Ceremonies will be held on Friday at 7 PM in the Social Hall. 2019 Honorees will be named soon. Additionally there will be three $1,000 YSU Scholarships awarded to deserving YSU students for academic and community service excellence.

Little Prince and Princess Pageant
Thursday night kicks off the festival with the “Little Prince & Princess Pageant” that be will held at 7 PM in the Social Hall. The contest includes boys and girls ages 4-9 hosted by the always entertaining, Jim Loboy.

Sunday Noon Mass & Procession
The procession will start at 1 PM after the noon mass. It will be led by a group of the church’s youth bearing the flags of Italy’s Regions and process down via Mt. Carmel and back, along with the Knights of Columbus, and Opening Ceremonies honorees. They will make their way through the midway and conclude with a concert by the Lowellville Band.

Known for the Food
What is better at an Italian Festival than great food? All your favorite vendors are back with the addition of some new and well-known area favorites taste treats. We have delicious and tempting foods from the cavatellis to the sausage sandwiches, greens, fried boloney, burgers, wings, ribs and chicken, kettle corn and finish with the sweet taste of great cookies, ice cream or pastries, plus many more favorites from our high-quality and highly recommended food vendors.

Huge Italian Auction
Chairperson Angie Foltz works year round to insure this attraction is a success with over 200 prices that will appeal to every age group. It runs all four days inside our hall with the drawing on Sunday evening. It’s a must see!

Craft and Retail Vendors
A variety of retail and craft vendors will be set up with new items available for display and sale, including a quality jewelry vendor inside the hall, and a large display of t-shirts, jackets and a various other items outside on the grounds. Plus some new items for sale that you’ll enjoy and want to see. Something special for everyone.

Fun for Your Children Too
The Children’s Area has been expanded with a kid’s craft area chaired by Christine Cipriano to entertain your child and they leave with a little souvenir they made themselves. This is in addition to games, bounce-a-round, train ride and mini ferris wheel.

Morra
This year we are holding the 5th Annual Italo Antonini Memorial Morra tournament (details to be announced. Stay tuned). Test your skills!

Free Shuttle Service and Parking
There will be plenty of parking and security to handle the expected crowds. After the Mt. Carmel lot is filled, parking lots at United Way, St. Cyril & Methodius Church, IBM Building, Levinson Tire, and the YMCA lots are available with two busses running again this year to bring you to the fest. Additionally golf carts shuttle you to the entrance, free of charge.

Pre-Sale Tickets Available
You can purchase your admission tickets at a discounted rate at the following Outlets: Rulli Bros. West and South, Jimmy’s Italian store on Belmont Avenue, Lariccia’s in Boardman and Trolio’s t-shirts in Poland. You can purchase a book of (4) tickets for only $6.00, which can be used on any day. This is a BIG savings and avoid having to purchase them at the gate.
